DR 46® is a cushion studied to protect motorcyclists from the lateral impact against the road barriers.
It consists of an empty body made of plastic material (polyethylene) with a purposely calculated wave section.
The chosen shape and the used material allow a plastic deformation and an air compression that partially redirect and absorb the crash against the bearing structure of the barrier (poles to “C” or to “I” in steel). That constitutes, generally, the greatest source of danger for a motorcyclist during the fall.

The device is modular and easy to install, with simple connections. It should be installed under the beams of every kind of exhisting metallic barrier allowing therefore the raising of the levels of emergency independently from the kinds of barriers, without interfering with the performances of control of the vehicle.
Moreover, its structure concurs to easily follow also the small diameter curves.
DR 46® has a standard yellow colour but, on request, it is realizable in various colours, obtaining therefore also identifying effects and dangers signs.
The values obtained from computerized calculations point out that the contingent fall of a motorcyclist and the consequent slide towards the barrier are mitigated from the plastic cushioning protection. In such a way serious damages, above all to the head and limbs are avoided.
