Preferential lane separators, known as “kerbs”, shall be built using modular preformed polyurethane elements that slot into each other, applied along the line of the traffic, capable of allowing for curves with a continuous profile and without sudden breaks.
These elements shall be fixed to the ground – however constructed – by means of bolts or threaded bars to be anchored using suitable resins or binders, in holes to be made in the ground.
Each element in the kerb may have through-holes or suitable seats for optional insertion of flexible circular or lamellar markers, in addition to the lateral reflector inserts.
The height of these lane separators shall comply with the provisions of the Highway Code and subsequent amendments. The colour shall be paste-dyed yellow, capable of guaranteeing visual permanence of the colour in all traffic, abrasion and/or weather conditions.
The following characteristics in the lane separators shall be tested before supply:
- yellow colouring, via paste-dyeing.
